World War II was a battle of massive proportions. Most countries wanted protection in exchange for goods and services, making many allies for both sides. There were air wars, ground wars, sea wars, and even nuclear wars. The start of World War II was caused by Germany, as they invaded Poland. From late 1939s to early 1941s, Germany, Japan, and Italy conquering a majority of Europe. United Kingdom and France were their biggest opponents. In June, 1941, the bombing of Pearl Harbor took place, bring the USA into the war.
Poland: 450,000-750,000 infantry soldiers and 12 brigades Germany: 1,200,000-2,500,000 infantry soldiers and 90,000-150,000 armored soldiers.
Germany had the best firepower too. Per division they had about 442 machine guns, 135 mortars, and 72 anti-tank guns. They also had many armored divisions. The Allies had tons of tanks, but had no armored divisions. One German/Japanese strategy was to crash dive-bombers into army’s main defenses and later attacking the weakened spot with tanks and soldier divisions. Many battles were staged, but they were too many to list. The war was coming to a close when the Germans lost in Stalingrad, Japanese at the Pacific Ocean, and another German loss at North Africa. Then the Allies captured Berlin, getting Germany’s unofficial surrender. To get the Japanese to surrender, the US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan cities. Under the threat of more bombing, Japan surrendered. The war was won by the Allies. The second World War was a fatal one, resulting in 50,000,000 to 85,000,000 deaths. Thank you for reading.
